How did I do on my resolutions?

Last January I made my resolutions for 2004. Let’s see how I did!

1. Lose 20 More Pounds.

Well, I did this, but only after gaining 20 pounds first… So I netted out even. I think that now with the holidays I’ve crept up in pounds again. So not so good on this one. Might have to put it on the list again for next year.

2. Spend a night a week learning new tech

Didn’t really do well on this one either. I have learned some new stuff this year, but not as much as I need, or want to. Also, definitely not in a ‘One Night a Week’ quantity either. Another one back on the docket for next year.

3. Write More

Another thing I seemed to have failed on. I’ve written a lot more in the blog (see #6) but my professional writing has kind of taken a back seat. I’ll change that this year. Just gotta get off my lazy butt and do it.

4. Take More Photos

This one I accomplished. Now I just have to keep uploading everything to flickr. Flickr really is going to change the way people view photography, and I’m glad to be a part of the flickr community.

5. Let My Family Know I Love Them

I accomplish this every single day. I’ve spent more time with my wife and kids this year (especially during my 3.5 month layoff) and it’s been wonderful. My family has no doubt in their mind that they mean the world to me. This seems especially poignant in light of the Tsunami disaster in Asia. It proves how you never know how much time you have.

6. Post Regularly On The Blog And Make It Count

I think I’ve also done this very well. I made a promise that I wasn’t going to let this stagnate, and that I was going to post decent stuff. I think this year I’ve done some entertaining, some instruction, some tech help, some soul searching, and some gadget enlightenment! Thanks for coming along for the ride.

So in all, I’ve done half of my resolutions pretty well, which is a damn good start. Next week I’ll outline my goals for the next year!
