Lotus Notes and Domino 8.5 On the Way
For those of you that were unaware, Lotus is prepping its 8.5 release of Notes and Domino. According to Ed, the code is done, and should see the light of day before this year’s Lotusphere. This could be one of the most significant releases of Domino ever, and check out my latest article in Intranet Journal to see why. Now, I’m a Notes junkie, and have been a Notes and Domino administrator for over a decade, so I tend to be an early adopter and install new releases immediately when they happen. I know in most industries, there is a much more cautious approach to releases, and in many cases it can take years before a company makes a move.
That would be a mistake.

I was speaking to a Lotus Support person Yesterday about a issie, I asked him the question about 8.5 He said it has been pulled back until the 1st week on January 2009. due to support issue of 8.5 and the if it was relesed on that date (19th December 2008). it was a question of supporting this major release and the Christmas. I can’t wait untill it is released.
