Free Yourself from Lotus Notes with Quest
Ahhh, how I love the pre-Lotusphere email barrages. This time I got an email from TechTarget (yes, the people who run SearchDomino.com). I can register to attend these informative webcasts:
- How to Avoid Hassles in Notes Messaging Migration
- The Key to Preventing Chaos in Migrating Notes Applications
- The Seamless Way to Recompose Notes Applications in SharePoint
- Managing Your New Messaging Environment with Efficiency
- Migration Services that Pay for Themselves
Talk about missing the target audience COMPLETELY! I imagine this is all part of near-Lotusphere Microsoft FUD push. Keep an eye out for more fun!

That would explain how come I feel so good about unsubscribing to their newsletter and dropping their RSS feed.

My issue is usually with the ads in their emails. Here is the first ad in yesterday’s:

Migrating Lotus Notes to Modern Platforms
There are many factors to consider when contemplating a move from
Lotus Notes. Most often the question is strategic and focuses on how
best to modernize. This white paper
examines migration choices for rapidly moving from Lotus Notes to

I sent the following email to their editor:
**********************
I’ve been on you mailing list for seven years but…
I will no longer accept emails containing swipes like “Migrating Lotus Notes to Modern Platforms” when the email is from a group claiming to be pro Lotus Notes/Domino.
If you can’t get the advertiser to rephrase text like this, then please remove my email address from your mailing list.

I haven’t heard back, so I guessing my next email from them will cause me to follow Duffbert’s lead.
