Missing the family
I know my wife will think that I am just posting this for brownie points, but I really do miss my family. When I got on the flight today there were tons of people with their kids, all off to see the Mouse. Jen and I decided that this year, the girls and her wouldn’t come. It’s primarily a financial issue, and also a logistics issue (we’re in the middle of a bathroom remodel.)
It’s weird. I always enjoy my bachelor weekends (or weeks) if her and the girls go off to visit distant family without me, but it’s completely different when I am the one leaving. I feel like I’m leaving them behind. I know this week is going to be really busy, and I wouldnt see them much (if at all) anyway, but I still wish they were here.

Interesting. I feel the same way when I have to travel by myself. I can relax and get things done when I’m at home by myself just fine. I can travel with my wife anywhere just fine. I used to travel better when I was single too.
I hate it while it’s happening, but I’m glad it does.
