The Greyhawk has landed!
Okay, I was planning on blogging yesterday, but I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay for their network access at the Beach Club, especially when there is a free Lotusphere cloud over most of the conference.
Anyway, got in about mid-day, headed to the Dolphin, and felt like I was home. It’s always nice to get this recharge every year. I don’t think anyone in the world gets this feeling other than Lotusphere attendees. And everyone I talked to here so far knows what I mean.
Around four o’clock I headed over to the boardwalk for Bruce’s bloggers dinner, and we pretty much took over half of the outside patio. This was much to the chagrin of the manager, who admonished us NUMEROUS times for adding people. It was the largest this gathering had ever been. I think this bodes well for the Sphere.
Next, we hit the Turtle’s party at ESPN. This has been a long-standing tradition, and it’s always a blast. It was nice to see so many people wearing “I’m a Sicko” buttons. Look for it in all of the ESPN pictures. 🙂 I would start naming everyone that was there, but then I would invariably forget someone, so instead, lets just say most of the Lotus blogosphere was in attendance.
So, at the end of the evening, when things should have would down, Wild Bill and Newbs held a tasting event at Newb’s room. Much 18 and 20 year old scotch was consumed. Before I knew it, it was 3AM. Yikes. It was a long walk back to the beach. Would I make the 10:30 AM session? Hmmmmmm…
