flickr gives back

Last night I jumped on flickr to find that they had given myself and all other pro account users a surprise. They had taken every pro account and doubled its subscription length. So for me, that means I have a flickr account through December of 2008! That wasn’t all. They doubled my monthly upload limit to 2GB, and gave me two pro accounts to give away to friends. They also reduced their price of accounts to $25.95 a year, so the barrier to flickr entry has been lowered.

I had wondered how the Yahoo! purchase of flickr would change things, and so far it’s definitely changing for the better. It was really nice of flickr to give back to its early supporters through the beta, and it’s one more reason I love their service. If you haven’t checked it out, read this, then go sign up today.
