SnTT: Default ACL groups for your templates
A quick tip for those of you that haven’t run across this before. You can add default groups to the ACL’s of your templates, so when you create a new database from that template, the groups will be included in the ACL by default. Simply open up your template’s ACL and add the name of the group inside brackets. So for example, below you will see my addition of [MyOwnGroupHere]
You can see several groups in brackets, including LocalDomainServers and OtherDomainServers. Well, if you create a new database from that template, you will see that the MyOwnGroupHere group was included by default.
It’s that simple. This way, every time you create a new database, you won’t need to tweak the ACL afterwards, it will have the entries you want by default!

I use this feature all the time, especially when I create new databases from my base template. It saves me so much time since I tend to think of the ACL only when I am going to production.

we live by that one for easier deployment across customers. Helps get us right in the ACL’s immediately on creation of new mailfiles and such
