Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer

As a digital photographer, I’m a big advocate of using the RAW file format as a digital negative for your photos. I’ve even written an article about it. One knock on RAW files has been that you have to have special software to view the files and “develop” them.

Well viewing just got a little easier. Microsoft released their RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer. After this 47 MB install, you’ll be able to view RAW files from Canon and Nikon natively within Windows. Great step in the right direction!
