I've made some updates – Nicer look, New RSS feeds, etc.
In the last couple of weeks I’ve been tweaking the Blogsphere template to add some stuff that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. Since many of you don’t come to the site other than via an RSS feed, I wanted to let you know what changed.
First of all, I always wanted my archives available, but I hated the way the Archive block took up too much real estate. So now there is just an archive link to another view that shows all of the individual month links. Makes it easier in the long run, and keeps wasted space on the home page to a minimum.
The other major change was that I have now created RSS feeds for each of the categories I post in. On the left side of the site, I have a button called RSS Feeds. Clicking that button will take you to a page with all of the individual feed links. I still have two feeds that do All Stories and All Comments, but in addition, I have ten specific feed categories. As of this post, they all validate as well.
I did this so people that ONLY want Lotus info can get a feed with only Lotus-themed posts. Or for those people that come here looking for digital imaging posts, they will be able to subscribe to only that. Obviously, I would hope you would want to read everything I have to offer, but I understand that posts about my septic system or root canal might not be tops on everyone’s list.
So, check out the feeds, the subtle site changes (gradients and what not) and let me know what you think!
