Glad to be a carnivore!
Wow. That’s all I have to say. Last night I went to a restaurant called Sal and Carvao in Downers Grove, IL. This is a Brazilian steakhouse or churrascaria. It works like this: You sit down at your table, and everyone involved gets a card on the table. One side of the card is red, and the other side is green. When you want the restaurant to bring you meat, you flip the card over to green. The entire time your card is showing green, employees come to your table with FOURTEEN different types of meat on large skewers. You get a set of tongs along with your silverware, and they cut meat directly off the skewer and allow you to grab them with your tongs. Various steaks, chicken, pork, and lamb keep flowing past your table until you flip the card over to red. You can flip it back at any time to get the meat train rocking again.
They also have an incredible salad bar, and they bring fried bananas and mashed potatoes to your table as well. My water glass never got below 3/4 full too. The service was amazing. If you like to chomp on dead animal flesh, this is the place for you. They have two locations, the aforementioned one in Downers, and another in Schaumburg. If you are a vegan, avoid this restaurant like the plague…

I’ve been to two places like this. One in Montreal, and one on Cape Cod. You can hear the arteries hardening all around you, but mmmmmm, it’s sure good!
