A little about me…

Well, I’ve finally made the jump into the blogging world. Who the hell am I? Well, My name is John Roling and I have been working with Notes and Domino since 1995, and have been actively developing with it since 1996. I’ve even written articles for DominoPower in the past (wow, has it really been two years.) All of this leads to me being sort of an online junkie, and a person who loves Domino.

Why do I love it so much? Well it got me into the field I really wanted to be in. Lotus Notes propelled me out of being a bank account rep and into the technology world. I loved it, learned it, taught it, and then got a job administering it. Not too long thereafter I was developing for it, and the rest is history. I owe a lot to Lotus. As such, my car license plates say Notes R5, and my car is lovingly called Iris. Yeah from fan to fanatic.

So why should you come back? What do I have to offer? Well, much like John Head I’m a gaming fanatic, so you’ll occasionally see news from me on that front (although John has that covered well.) I’m also a gadget freak, so you will see info from me on all the latest gear that us as techo-geeks will be lusting after. Sometimes there will be poetry, sometimes there will be rants against stupid decisions in the world, and every once in awhile you will get a story on a drunken escapade involving members of the Lotus community. I feel I have a good perspective to offer, and I hope you do too.
